In accordance with district policy, electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, ipods, mp3 players, etc) are not allowed in class. If used in class, these devices will be confiscated and turned into the office.
Labs
We will be conducting several labs during the semester including dissections. Formal lab write ups are required for most labs. Students are required to pass a lab safety test and sign a contract before participating in any labs. Misconduct in the lab will not be tolerated and can result in removal of the student and a zero on the lab.
Article Reviews
There will be 2 article reviews due per month. See Review Format page for specifics and resources.
Assignments
I will not accept late work; however, it must still be completed and put in your binder for the notebook check. If you have an excused absence, it is your responsibilityto check with me about missed assignments as soon as you return. Please see me before or after class – do not interrupt a lesson to ask about missed assignments. Make up tests may differ from regular tests.
Extra Credit
There will be no extra credit available during this course.
You are responsible for your education.
I am available for extra help during lunch and before school. Make an appointment with me ahead of time to make sure I do not have meetings already scheduled. I am here to offer you any support you may need, but whether or not you pass is up to you. Grades are regularly posted and I expect you to monitor your own progress. D and F notices are called home every week by the school system.
